Byron Bay is the ‘jewel in the crown’ of the north coast of New South Wales. Ideally situated under the lighthouse at Cape Byron, Australia’s most easterly point and enjoying a sub-tropical climate, this unique coastal town is the perfect place to recharge body and soul.

Byron has always been a special place. The surrounding area was once the site of the biggest shield volcano in the southern hemisphere. The Cape, the spectacular mountains to the west & Julian Rocks in the Bay are remnants of this giant caldera rim.

For thousands of years, the area was inhabited by the Bundjalung (Arakwal) people who recognised it as a special place for meeting and gathering, healing, sharing resources and culture. Today, Byron Bay continues this tradition, hosting one of Australia’s most diverse, spiritual and creative communities. People from many cultures continue to gather here for regeneration, healing, relaxation & play.

Renew & replenish your inner & outer spirit while in Byron by indulging in some pampering at a day spa or try one of the many varieties of massage to bring your senses alive. Take a yoga class or recharge yourself with a holistic healing therapy of your choice.
Immerse yourself in the natural beauty that abounds in the area.

Take the walking track loop from Captain Cook Lookout up to the Cape through littoral rainforest and returning via Wategos Beach, Palm Valley and Clarkes Beach. From Cape Byron you can watch for dolphins, turtles, stingrays & humpback whales on their annual migration between May and November.  Sea kayak amongst the dolphins, dive the underwater wonderland of the Cape Byron Marine Park or take a hot air balloon flight at sunrise, a glider flight or a tandem skydive from the nearby Tyagarah airfield to get a bird’s-eye view of the Cape and breathtaking ‘Rainbow Region’.

Byron Bay has become renowned as an artistic and creative centre. Discover the cultural essence of Byron Bay at the colourful local markets held on the first Sunday of each month at Butler Street Reserve or browse the many studios & galleries of talented local artists & artisans at the Arts & Industy Estate.  Enjoy a unique shopping experience browsing the town’s many boutiques & galleries. Participate in the numerous community festivals and events like the East Coast Blues Festival, The Writers Festival, Splendour in the Grass and the Byron Bay Film Festival.
